Preparation and signing of paperwork
We will send you the contract through Adobe sign which can be submitted to us at your earliest convenience, which will begin the process towards cremation. For loved ones in a care home, the transfer may be done before the paperwork.

Transfer
We will take your loved one into our care and transfer them for cremation

Death registration and cremation
The death is registered with Vital Statistics BC a disposition permit is issued which authorizes the cremation.

Delivery of ashes
We will hand deliver the ashes back to you within 14 days within the lower mainland. We also ship to those outside of the lower mainland.

How are you different from other cremation providers?
  • We are a private, family-owned business with no affiliation to other funeral homes and memorial societies. Learn more about us HERE
  • We don't engage in two-tier pricing where you receive one price from the parent company and another cheaper price from their cremation service
  • We offer one low, affordable price which many funeral homes will match, except our price started that low
  • We don't upsell the expensive extras and ONLY provide you what you ask for because that's Basic.
How else are you different?
  • We don't require payment up-front or a deposit! We prefer you pay us once we've completed our service
  • You can pay us upon delivery of the ashes to you or just prior to delivery
  • We accept E-Transfers, personal cheques, bank drafts, or cash - no credit cards to keep the price low!
How Long Does it take?

Under normal circumstances, we will have delivery of the ashes and death certificate within 10 days from the day:

  1. Cremation documents are signed 
  2. Your loved one is transferred to the crematory
  3. The doctor or coroner has sent us the medical certificate of death, whichever is later

 

What are the costs?

A Basic Cremation Inc. costs significantly less with just one basic package. There are optional extras that will incur additional fees but aren't required - to learn more, see our 'Basic Package' page

I am very relieved and glad I found A Basic Cremation on google search after all. I have inquired other funeral homes and felt discouraged and disappointed because they were just bunch of money grabbers with very friendly smiles. Be careful.
